Morris (knee) was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Morris was dealing with a minor knee injury last week, resulting in a season-low five touches against the Chargers. While the veteran back remained on the team's official injury report, his full practice early in the week bodes well for his Week 5 status. Fellow starter Matt Breida is dealing with a shoulder injury and was limited Wednesday, but his status for Sunday's contest against the Cardinals doesn't appear to be in jeopardy. Morris is the less-explosive of the two runners, but he still figures to be the favored goal-line back.

Morris rushed four times for 14 yards and caught one of his three targets for four yards in Sunday's 29-27 win over the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Morris entered the game reportedly less healthy than Matt Breida, so that likely explains why the 29-year-old wasn't as involved as usual after not having seen fewer than 12 over the season's first three weeks. Breida wasn't much more effective with his opportunity so if the 29-year-old can recover more fully in time for Week 5 at home against Arizona, he'd likely return to his typical role. The Florida Atlantic product has 167 yards and a touchdown on 44 carries this year.

Morris (knee) is listed as active Sunday at the Chargers, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morris didn't make an appearance on the injury report until Thursday, at which point he logged back-to-back limited practices due to a knee injury. Matt Breida, his backfield mate, similarly entered the weekend as questionable, but both players are available to a Jimmy Garoppolo-less offense. Such a reality should afford both Morris and Breida plenty of reps moving forward.

Morris (knee) was a limited practice participant Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Morris was added to the injury report Thursday and managed a pair of limited practices to close out the week. Backfield mate Matt Breida is also listed as questionable with a knee injury, after scaling back from full participation Thursday to a limited showing Friday. It appears both running backs are on track to play, but we may not know for sure until the 49ers release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes before Sunday's 4:25 PM ET kickoff. Morris and Breida both lost a chunk of value last week when Jimmy Garoppolo tore an ACL.

Morris was limited in Thursday's practice due to a knee injury, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
On Monday, coach Kyle Shanahan said Morris emerged from the 49ers' Week 3 contest at Kansas City with an ankle concern but expected the running back "to be alright," according to David Lombardi of The Athletic. Morris seemed to do that by avoiding the injury report entirely Wednesday, only to appear on Thursday's version with a knee injury. Meanwhile, Matt Breida turned in a full session Thursday after opening Week 4 prep as a limited participant due to a hyperextended right knee. If Morris enters the weekend healthy, the 49ers likely will employ an even split of touches and offensive snaps, per usual, in order to keep both backs as fresh as possible.

Morris wasn't listed on the Wednesday injury report for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morris reportedly suffered an ankle injury during Sunday's 38-27 loss to the Chiefs, but it didn't stop him from posting a season-best rushing line of 14-67-1. We now have confirmation the injury was no big deal, unlike Jimmy Garoppolo's season-ending ACL tear. Meanwhile, backfield mate Matt Breida (knee) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice after playing with a hyperextended knee throughout much of last week's loss.

Morris (ankle) took part in practice Wednesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Morris injured his ankle during Sunday's loss in Kansas City, he appears to be the healthier of the 49ers' backfield duo. Matt Breida was contained to work on a side field Wednesday due to a hyperextended knee suffered in the same contest. As a result, Morris likely will handle first-team reps, at least the ones the 49ers allow him to partake in. Expect the 49ers' situation at running back to work itself in practice the next few days.

Morris picked up an ankle injury during Sunday's defeat at Kansas City, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Like Matt Breida, Morris missed some time Week 3 due to injury. Unlike Breida, who has a hyperextended right knee, Morris seems to be dealing with a minor concern. As evidence, coach Kyle Shanahan said he expects Morris "to be alright." With the status of the 49ers top two running backs in flux, upcoming practices will be key to determining an approximate breakdown of upcoming reps out of the backfield.

Morris toted the rock 14 times for 67 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-27 loss to Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
Morris received 14 carries to co-starter Matt Breida's 10, as the running back duo continues to split touches evenly. The latter performed better on per-carry basis (9.0) and also had a bigger impact in the passing game (three catches for 27 yards). Morris, however, was used from in close, barreling forward for a three-yard touchdown. Both backs could be in store for larger workloads after quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) appeared to have sustained a season-ending injury.

Morris totaled 48 yards on 14 carries and caught both his targets for an additional 32 yards during Sunday's 30-27 win over the Lions.
EDGE Analysis
Morris struggled to the tun of just 3.4 yards per carry, but he added a pair of 16-yard catches to pad his yardage totals on the day. Meanwhile, Matt Breida contributed 159 scrimmage yards on 14 touches and scored a crucial 66-yard touchdown in the third quarter. The two backs continue to split touches for the time being, but Morris' ineffectiveness on the ground, combined with Breida's emergence, could shift this dynamic moving forward. As things stand, Morris should still see a healthy allotment of touches next week against the Chiefs.
