Raiders WLB Aaron Curry's new contract actually tacked four years onto his old rookie deal, keeping Curry under Oakland's control through 2016. The final three seasons are voidable, however, and none of Curry's $3.5 million due in 2013 is guaranteed. It's believed the deal will void after two seasons, assuming Curry is still a Raider then. He received a $1.885 million signing bonus and a 2012 base salary of $615,000. Curry should return as a starter in 2012, and he will be back in 2013 if he plays well on the weak side.

Raiders signed WLB Aaron Curry to a one-year contract extension. It's purely a cap maneuver, as Curry's $5.76 million 2012 salary will now be split over the next two seasons. Curry would have been released were he not open to an "extension."

Raiders WLB Aaron Curry has agreed to a contract restructuring that should keep him in Oakland in 2012. Curry likely turned a large portion of his $5.8 million base salary into incentives, giving him the ability to earn it all back if he plays well in 2012. It will be the final year of Curry's contract. After coming over from Seattle before the 2011 trade deadline, Curry started nine games. Pro Football Focus graded him positively in run defense, but poorly in pass coverage.

The San Francisco Chronicle believes both OLB Aaron Curry and FS Michael Huff will be back with the Raiders in 2012. Curry is due $5.75 million next season, but beat writer Vittorio Tafur expects him to return on a restructured deal. According to league sources, Curry is "liked" by new Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie. Coming off an up-and-down 2011, Huff is due a $4 million roster bonus on March 16, but his $4 million 2012 salary is fully guaranteed.

Raiders acquired OLB Aaron Curry from the Seahawks in exchange for two undisclosed draft picks, one in 2012 and one in 2013. They're believed to be mid- to late-round picks. The Raiders haven't scrapped their philosophy of trying to rehabilitate former first-round busts in the post-Al Davis era. Curry, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2009 draft, flamed out in Seattle because he lacked instincts to diagnose run plays and was a zero in pass coverage. Raiders MLB Rolando McClain suffered a potentially serious ankle injury in Week 6, and Curry could be viewed as insurance behind likely replacement starter Darryl Blackstock.

The Seattle Times reports that SLB Aaron Curry's contract is being restructured again as the prelude to an impending trade. Curry's locker has been cleaned out at the Seahawks' facility and he was not at Wednesday's practice. The team is not commenting, but it looks like he's been traded. Carolina has previously been rumored as a possible landing spot. Curry was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft. Stay tuned.

Beat writer Steve Reed hears the Panthers "might be interested" in Seahawks OLB Aaron Curry. The Panthers have been decimated by injuries to their linebackers and Curry has been demoted out of the starting lineup in Seattle. The 2009 No. 4 overall pick could likely be had cheaply ahead of the October 18 trade deadline.

NFL.com's Jason La Canfora has confirmed the Seahawks are "open" to trading SLB Aaron Curry. According to La Canfora, Seattle has yet to begin actively shopping the former No. 4 overall pick, but are "not averse to it" ahead of the October 18 trade deadline. This is not a surprise after Curry lost his starting job to rookie K.J. Wright in Week 3. Despite his immense athleticism, Curry would be unlikely to fetch anything other than a late-round pick in any potential deal.

Former No. 4 overall pick Aaron Curry has lost his starting weak-side linebacker job to rookie K.J. Wright. Athletic and productive at Wake Forest, Curry was highly regarded in the scouting community entering the 2009 draft. He's failed to make impact plays in Seattle, though, managing just 5.5 sacks and one interception as a 30-game starter the past two seasons. He had been removed from nickel packages after a dropped interception and blown coverage last week. The Tacoma News Tribune suggests Curry could go on the trade block. With no guaranteed money left on his contract, Curry can be released in 2012.

No. 4 overall pick Aaron Curry has agreed to a restructured contract that now expires following the 2012 season. Curry surrendered $5 million worth of guaranteed money in exchange for dropping the final two seasons on what was originally a six-year, $60 million rookie deal. Curry is not considered in the class of JaMarcus Russell in terms of draft busts, but he's been a below-average starter with the Seahawks. The team may be grooming rookie K.J. Wright to challenge him next year.
