Hillman gained 109 yards on 20 carries and 29 yards on three receptions in Thursday's 35-21 win over the Chargers. Hillman played well and earned his second 100-yard outing in three weeks, but it was fellow running back Juwan Thompson who got a pair of one-yard touchdowns. While obviously frustrating for Hillman's owners, it's important to note that Thompson was lined up as a fullback in front of Hillman on both plays, rather than replacing him as the halfback. Thompson's size could get the rookie a few extra touches near the painted grass, but the Broncos have mostly kept Hillman in for goal-line situations in Montee Ball's (groin) absence. Ball is expected to miss at least one more game, leaving Hillman as the probable lead back against a shaky New England run defense. With the way he's played thus far, Hillman is making a strong case to keep a significant role in the offense upon Ball's return to health.

Hillman could've had 4tds. Out of bounds on the screen. Holding call on the 30 yard run for a td. And two runs by fullback. SMH!

So pissed off. Hillman had more yards in that game than the FB has in his career.

Those 2 td"s would be great and the manning flop at goal line ... then there's 2 td by juwan !!! Daamn

I could have used those 2 TD's. Plus the other 2 that he should of had. He's a RB 1, hopefully Denver knows that even when Ball comes back!

Even with Ball coming back, I'm still gonna start Hillman because he's better than my other options and so many other RBs are hurt. It's a very shallow group of RBs in a 2-RB league.

Me too! It sucks when the RB does all the work in between the 20's and then they bring in a fresh set of legs for the goal line work.

If McCoy lays one more egg this week, he's getting benched for Lamar Miller and Hillman.
