Prater and Jay Feely are slated to work out for Lions on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. The Lions are looking to replace Alex Henery, who was released on Monday, with the kicker that the team decides on worthy of a pickup by those looking for a bye week plug-in, or, of course, a replacement for Henery.

No comparison between Feely and Prater. Gotta sign Prater. Can't understand why Denver cut him.

Cause Elway said Julius Thomas wasn't worth a big payday and JT went and made himself worth it so now he has to scramble for money before next offseason.

Because paying a kicker with a career 81% completion rate 4+ million dollars a year is absurd. Especially when Denver has been in the lower middle of the league in FG attempts In the Manning era.

Well maybe, but he's widely considered the best fantasy kicker in the league and to just cut him makes no sense. They obviously thought he was worth it when they offered him that contract. Why didn't they just cut him at the beginning of the season? Something else is going on here. I think manning is involved...you know, idiot kickers and all. LOL

Nah, I wouldn't peg it on Manning. And forget fantasy, I think he's currently the best kicker in the league right now period. I honestly think this was a money move above all else, the Broncos have a lotta guys they gotta pay coming up.

Can't cut a player who is suspended for substance abuse. Same way Jacksonville can't cut Blackmon, it's against the CBA. It's why Denver waited til now when his suspension was honored to cut ties. And best fantasy kicker doesn't mean a lot, Prater was like 16th in FGA last year. He made his fools gold in XP, which he set a single season record last year. Denver felt like McManus can do the same job for cheaper, but the Thomas and Thomas extensions look large, gotta save every penny you can.

Got it...TY. I had a feeling but wasn't sure.

And the Manning comment was an attempt at humor. :-)
