Kaepernick (back) completed 29-of-37 pass attempts for 245 yards and a touchdown. He also carried the ball 13 times for 54 yards in the loss to Arizona on Sunday. Despite the uncharacteristic 37 pass attempts and 13 rush attempts, Kaepernick's yardage and touchdown totals were rather pedestrian against a tough Cardinals' defense. He didn't turn the ball over once Sunday after giving it up four times last week against Chicago, but he also seemed a little gun-shy with his pass attempts (6.62 YPA). Through three games, the results from Kaepernick have been mixed. His rushing attempts have increased on a weekly basis, which is a positive for his fantasy value going forward. But only contributing four touchdowns through three games is worrisome for those who own him in one-quarterback leagues. There is no doubt Kaepernick is a talented quarterback, but how he is used on the field seems to change on a weekly basis, which could make him a frustrating player to rely on week-to-week. Next week should provide a great opportunity to showcase his skills when San Francisco takes on a Philadelphia defense that just gave up 34 points and 511 yards to Washington.
