McCown will have X-rays on his injured thumb after exiting Thursday's 56-14 loss in the second quarter, Greg Auman of The Tampa Bay Times reports. McCown's health isn't the only issue, as his poor play has already led to speculation about a quarterback switch, though head coach Lovie Smith didn't address the issue after Thursday's game, according to Rick Stroud of The Tampa Bay Times. McCown initially stayed in the game after hitting his thumb on another player's helmet, but he then went back to the locker room before the end of the first half, allowing Mike Glennon to take over. McCown completed 5-of-12 passes for 54 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception. Glennon fared better in garbage time, completing 17-of-24 passes for 121 yards, with one touchdown and no turnovers. Of course, Glennon mostly just threw short passes against a defense that could afford to give up modest gains.

Thought McCown would do better after last season. I picked him as my QB3 on all my teams. I also took mostly RGIII as my QB 2 so I really suck.

On paper I liked every single move the Bucs made on offense and defense. Bring in McCown and have 2 big outside targets in VJax and Evans just like Marshall and Alshon in Chicago, pick up right where you left off.....they even added Mankins on the o line and drafted a potential stud TE. Disappointing so far, embarrassing last night.
