Holmes caught three passes and gained 21 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bills. It wasn't completely clear that Holmes had earned the Bears' No. 3 receiving role after an abbreviated training camp, but the distributions of targets in Sunday's game seemed to verify as much, as Holmes saw five looks to Josh Morgan's three. Even so, a clear hierarchy exists among the Bears' receiving corps as all of Brandon Marshall, Martellus Bennett and Matt Forte doubled up Holmes in targets, and Alshon Jeffery likely would have as well had he not left early with a hamstring injury. For now, Holmes will have to settle for the scraps in the receiving game, while also serving as the punt returner for the Bears.
