Harvin had 59 yards on seven receptions and 41 yards on four carries in Thursday's season opener against the Packers. While most of the receiving yards came on one 33-yard gain, Harvin still did well to haul in all seven of his targets. He was also a menace to the Green Bay defense on jet sweeps, which could very well become a staple of the Seattle offense. Though Harvin didn't sniff the end zone, and only had one big play, his first performance was encouraging for fantasy owners, as the Seahawks are clearly determined to get the ball to their multi-faceted threat. Harvin also handled kickoffs, as expected, but he managed just 60 yards on three returns. While the team's punt-return job may be up for grabs after Earl Thomas fumbled, Harvin probably won't be a candidate for those duties.

If they keep using him like this i think he will be a top 5 WR.

FantasyJesus Fri 9/5/14 12:45 PM

They should and that's why I drafted him.

DesTROYER21 Fri 9/5/14 1:53 PM

Steal of the draft. Got em in 5th or 6th

cstockton Fri 9/5/14 3:39 PM

Being in a league in the Seattle area, I picked him up in round 1 rather than risk missing the opportunity. Glad I did!

Mixed_Nuts Fri 9/5/14 3:42 PM

You drafted Harvin in the 1st round?

TaylorRussell Fri 9/5/14 5:00 PM

lol

1st round is a huge reach lol. Didn't like him too much going into the season, but after watching last night I do

Springwater Fri 9/5/14 9:32 PM

Ha! Everyone thought I was crazzzy for picking him up second round. Boy howdy, I'm glad I did.

JasonTheMan Sat 9/6/14 12:44 AM

I'm in a keeper league where we get to keep up to 3 WRs at the end of the season. Last year I picked up Harvin when he was on the IR and kept him hoping he would be a value to me. So far so good. Fingers crossed they continue to use him like they did yesterday and that he stays healthy.

The guy is glass I would never draft him first terrible move. I got him around the 6th round or so in most leagues l2draftbetter. Lol.

1bigturd Sat 9/6/14 8:29 PM

wow, hey, i got him in 11th round lol

and i thought that was a reach

TouchdownBundy Sun 9/7/14 6:48 AM

^ yeah. Ist and 2nd round for this guy is crazy. lol. He had a really good game last Thurs and still only got 100 total yards. Top 5, are you insane? SEA ran him 4 times opening game and he caught 7 passes, don't expect that many looks for him every week. Probably a couple runs and 5 receptions.

TouchdownBundy Sun 9/7/14 10:13 AM

p.s. oh and I forgot to mention Harvin's most unique talent. He is the world's ultimate functioning silicate organism.

cstockton Wed 9/10/14 8:15 AM

Well, you all may be right; I'm not a seasoned fantasy guy. With Peyton, Jamaal and Davis as three of my keepers from last year, being weak in backup WR, and having two picks in a row at the time with Seattle still available, I figured it was worth it. We'll see...

Mixed_Nuts Wed 9/10/14 12:42 PM

Well Keeper leagues are different. If all the top flight WRs are already gone before the draft then I can see why you picked him up.
