Lamar Miller remains listed as the starter at running back over Moreno on the Dolphins' first official depth chart of the regular season, the team's official site reports. Though Miller remains listed atop the Dolphins' posted depth chart, the reports suggests that both Moreno and Miller should see considerable playing time out of the team's backfield. In any case, until something of a predictable distribution of the team's carries emerges, and that won't be revealed before Sunday's season opener against the Patriots, we'll continue to operate under the assumption that some form of time-share will be in effect to start the season. For his part, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald maintains that he expects Moreno to emerge as the team's top back, but such a scenario remains speculative for now, given the team's posted depth chart.

Besides the fact that Moreno runs for more yards per carry, he can actually block, and is one of the best pass-catching running backs in the NFL, clearly Miller is the logical choice. Hey Dolphins, do you ever wonder why your organization stinks? It is because of logic like this.

Knowshon, playing with Manning:

2012 3.8

2013 4.3

As opposed to Miller

2012 4.9

2013 4.0

Miller should have run away with this job. I think the Fins are looking at mediocrity with both of these guys.

In 2012 Miller was a rookie and had a whopping 250 yards and 1 TD (not much to average out there) ... A more fair comparison would be to Moreno's rookie year in which Kyle Orton was the QB and he had 1160 total yards... but yes Miller had I higher YPC his rookie year than Moreno did... but again 250 yards so sample size is an issue

miller looks like a serviceable 3rd down back. last year moreno looked motivated for the 1st time in his pro career. it was reminiscent of his georgia days. if he can stay healthy and motivated, it will be the 1st good dolphins back since ricky

The Dolphins clearly made the right choice giving Moreno 24 carries to Miller's 11, and average 5.5 yards per carry for 134 yards to beat the Patriots.

Yeah, I was very wrong here.
