Holmes hauled in a 32-yard touchdown pass in Thursday's preseason finale against the Browns. The touchdown demonstrated that Holmes still has something to offer as a vertical threat, eluding first-round pick Justin Gilbert on the scoring route. In addition, Holmes was surprisingly used as a punt returner, providing a 30-yard run back in the second quarter. Holmes' extensive experience as a receiver and ability to contribute on special teams probably locks him in as the Bears' No. 4 wideout entering the regular season, and it might not be long before he pushes Josh Morgan for No. 3 duties.
