Cox was cut by the Vikings on Monday, ESPN reports. Cox inked a four-year, $20 million contract with the Chargers in March of 2013, but lasted just one season in San Diego amid largely underwhelming returns on that hefty investment. While the cornerback aimed to rebound with the Vikings this term, he failed to earn significant action during the preseason, leading Minnesota to release Cox on Monday. The veteran will now hit the free agent market having been cut twice since the end of last season.
