Rodgers had 33 yards on eight carries and 31 yards on five receptions in Saturday's preseason game against the Titans. Once again starting in place of Steven Jackson (hamstring), Rodgers dominated the first-half touches, despite ceding first-team snaps to both Antone Smith and Devonta Freeman. While still the clear favorite to open the season as Jackson's top backup, Rodgers may have Freeman breathing down his neck. The Falcons expect Jackson to be ready for Week 1, but the 31-year-old veteran has a history of hamstring injuries, and isn't a good bet to play 16 games.
