Flowers, who has missed the Chargers' past five practices, is not expected to play in Thursday's preseason opener, U-T San Diego reports. Flowers has said whatever ailment he's currently dealing with isn't serious, but he still hasn't practiced for the better part of a week. While Flowers is still projected to see significant playing time, and perhaps start at cornerback, he'll need to first familiarize himself with his new team's scheme, making preseason work of value. The former Pro-Bowler posted 68 tackles and one interception for the AFC West rival Chiefs last season.
