Bucs MLB Mason Foster has shed seven pounds since the spring in an effort to become better in coverage and quicker laterally. Foster played at 242 pounds last season. In new coach Lovie Smith's defense, linebackers have to be fast and be able to cover running backs and tight ends. Foster has mostly been a straight-linish attacking linebacker since being the 84th pick in the 2011 draft. Foster will be on the IDP radar as an every-down player.
