Sources tell ESPN that Josh Gordon's blood-alcohol count was .09 when he was arrested on suspicion of DWI over July 4th weekend. The legal limit in North Carolina is .08, so the Browns have reportedly been told that it's possible the charges would be reduced. That could help Gordon's case when he applies for reinstatement to the league following his impending suspension. Gordon's hearing on that suspension is scheduled for sometime in the next two weeks, at which point the 16-game ban is expected to become official.

How in holy hell can a DUI help his case?

bumbscag Mon 7/21/14 10:02 PM

The reinstatement would be after the suspension, the fact that it's apparently an extremely minor dui helps his chances then I guess since it's not a higher bac.

not like he was wreckless, he just went to the bar and had a few drinks with his homeboys, couldn't pay for a cab and drove

The guy gets one more chance after his suspension, then if he screws up...he needs to be banned for life. Come down hard on all the athletes including "the brothas dat dont know no betta" and everyone will quickly learn, be held accountable, and a level playing field will be created.

The dui nobody is talking about is his next one. Or the one after that. This dude cant keep clean. Done-zo.

And now he will have a whole year off the browns need to hire someone to stay by his side day and night.

Gordon needs a mentor. It helped Dez Bryant.

Arguably he is the best receiver in the NFL. Led the NFL in receiving with not 1 but 3 incompetent quarterbacks. I cannot remember any receiver ever having a great year with 3 quarterbacks, never mind leading the league in reception yards.

At 23 years old it makes it a really hard decision on whether to keep him or not. I don't want to tank my team this year, but I don't want to watch him destroy me for the next 10 either.

Clearly Josh Gordon needs to get his act together, but NFL needs to stop it's morality campaign, for god sakes, weed is legal in 2 states. Additionally, I find it absurdly ironic that he probably will not have much of added penalty for drinking and driving, which actually kills people, but gets a year for smoking weed that only kills Doritos.

And AverageJoesQB you are a racist.

He reminded me of Randy Moss, the way he separated so effortlessly from defenders with that long stride; it's a shame, as I was looking forward to seeing him develop even more.
