Matt Cassel is expected to enter training camp as the Vikings' starter. Rookie Teddy Bridgewater has been sprinkled in with the ones during OTAs, but Cassel is getting more reps. New Vikings OC Norv Turner revealed he wanted to sign Cassel last year in Cleveland. "I think that would have been at the time a good move for us," Turner said. "I gave my evaluation (to the Browns). I thought he would have fit. ... Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't."

i thought i heard ESPN say that Bridgewater was killing it in the OTAs

Yeah but regardless of how he's doing in OTAs, it's not a real game and if you throw a rookie into a game like that you risk injury due to inexperience. Their best bet is letting Cassel start and make the rookie earn it

Besides ponder hears footsteps and we don't want that happening to teddy

i can name 3 recent QB's that started game 1 and did great. Ponder was just another bust. either they have it or they dont.

I heard that the Vikings are not trying to rush teddy into the starting spot, they want to get him experience as a back up for a little bit and maybe give him a start here or there if Cassel has a bad year

if cassel has a bad year...... care to place the odds on that? if TB is a better QB, the viks will play the player that gives them the best opportunity to win. that run game is great but AP wont last forever. win now.
