ESPN New York's Rich Cimini expects the Jets' cap savings from Santonio Holmes' forthcoming release to go "immediately toward buying a new receiver in free agency." Assuming both hit the market, the Jets are expected to pursue Jeremy Maclin and Emmanuel Sanders beginning on March 11. The Holmes cut will save $8.25 million in cap space, and the Jets are already in a good financial position even before that move is made. Maclin has history with Jets OC Marty Mornhinweg from their time together in Philly. Sanders should be pretty affordable.
