Speaking Monday, Texans interim coach Wade Phillips left the door open for T.J. Yates to start in Week 17. The Texans have seen all they need to see of Matt Schaub, while Case Keenum (thumb) is still questionable. The Texans clearly have little faith in the third-year pro who somehow led them to a 2011 Wild Card victory, but they have nothing to lose by trotting Yates out for a meaningless Week 17 game against the Titans. A decision should be made by Wednesday.
