Dolphins RE Olivier Vernon is tied for sixth in the NFL in sacks (10.5) and earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors in Week 13. He earned the honor by sacking Jets quarterbacks three times Sunday. The Dolphins' defensive line has been their brightest spot on a disappointing team, with Vernon bookending Cameron Wake, who has 6.5 sacks. Vernon won't get any Pro Bowl votes because he's not even on the ballot. "That's a guy that's not getting as much attention as he probably needs to be, or the credit that he deserves," said Ben Roethlisberger of Vernon in a pre-game conference call Wednesday. "He's playing at an extremely high level right now."
