Patriots LB Tracy White returned to practice Friday after missing nearly all of August with an undisclosed injury. White's absence wasn't related to his recovery from a sports-hernia operation. A reserve linebacker and core special teamer, White is in line for more snaps on defense after the Pats released veteran Bobby Carpenter.
