Redskins signed K Neil Rackers to a one-year contract.

The Texans showed little interest in bringing back Rackers after he finished near the bottom of the league in kickoff distance. Redskins incumbent Graham Gano has a stronger leg, but Rackers is more consistent on field goals. It's conceivable that the team will end up carrying both kickers to start the season. The Texans will likely address the position in the draft.

  • It is against Fleaflicker's terms of service to post offensive material.

Gano missed a ton of FG's over the last 2 seasons! to make things worse, the guy struggles to keep kickoff's in bounds. that really gets my goat. as weak as rackers leg is, at least he has accuracy and wont give the other team the ball at the 40 with every kick off. STRENGTH IS NOT EVERYTHING!

I know I was very glad when the Ravens got rid of Gano. Rackers should really help in DC, but he has dropped off significantly though.

its sad how bad he has dropped off and yet, is still an upgrade. maybe with RGIII, we will kick extra points instead of field goals!
