Mariani signed a two-year deal with the Bears on Tuesday. Mariani will provide the team with assistance in the return game, but he is unlikely to be a major part of the offensive game plan out of the gate. The 27-year-old caught five passes with the Titans back in 2011, and has three career return touchdowns. The Bears waived safety Ahmad Dixon in a corresponding move.
