Rice's appeal hearing of his indefinite suspension from the NFL will be heard Nov. 5 and 6, ESPN reports. The NFLPA is appealing Rice's suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy following his involvement in a domestic abuse incident with his then-fiancee. If Rice's appeal is approved, he could be eligible to sign with a team and potentially return this season.

The NFLPA is useless.

warriors2185 Tue 10/21/14 7:48 PM

Why do people in this country butt their effin noses into peoples personal business?? So he hit his ugly wife, who the hell cares?!? The dumb broad probably deserved it, and from what i saw in the video, she struck him first. Idk about any of you guys but if a girl ever hit me i would absolutely hit her back. A woman striking a man is just as bad. People should seriously mind their own Ps & Qs and enjoy football and not peoples DUIs, drug charges, and assault charges. IT'S NO ONE'S FREAKING BUSINESS!!!

TravisN Tue 10/21/14 7:54 PM

I am sorry you feel this way, as domestic abuse is a big probelm in the United States. It may seem too strict, but the NFL as an employer wants to make is clear that this behavior is not acceptable, and as an employee of the NFL you are liable for your actions as a representative of the NFL on and off the field.

Pretty sure when you sign a contract to be a professional athlete your buisness becomes everyones buisness. Im guessing warriors is joking to get a rise out of people but this RR guy is a bum. Imagine that being your mother , sister, or daughter. That dude deserves a minimum 1 year suspension but because they handed down a 2 game suspension and then revoked it tells me he gets reinstated soon. Noone will hire him this year. He shoulda been kissing the publics ass, appologizing and saying all the right things.

warriors2185 Thu 10/23/14 1:44 PM

No I'm not joking. That's just how i feel. Sorry but i watch football to watch football, not a soap opera. I'm not saying not to punish him, just don't make it so public.

I wouldn't be surprised if they made a tv show out of it now a days.

We all have our own opinions but i think it wouldn't be as big of a deal publicly if the media didn't treat it like a murder case. My point is that it's turned into something much bigger than it should be.

budsal Fri 10/24/14 7:57 AM

If the video never came out it would be squashed. But when you see him tune her up and then drag her like a caveman would then the whole situation comes to light. Its a pretty brutal video. And if youd tune a chick up for coming at you then your a weak man. Maybe if she kicked you in the nuts, but for what she did she didnt deserve to be KOd Tyson style.

derek55 Tue 10/21/14 3:02 PM

Hope nobody signs this punk! Great talent wasted good time for all the owners to show goodell how to make an example!!! Should be in jail not appealing a suspension

joegibbskins07 Tue 10/21/14 3:11 PM

now there will be a massive run to grab RR off the waivers.

Steelpens79 Tue 10/21/14 3:18 PM

Nobody will sign him this season, but he will be on a team next season guaranteed.

warriors2185 Tue 10/21/14 7:40 PM

Someone will sign him this year for sure. There are teams that are in desperate need of a running back, Jacksonville, Minnesota, Atlanta, and Especially Carolina, which is where I'm guessing he ends up.

I really couldn't care less if someone signs him or not but i would love to see which team picks him up and how the players/fans react to him.

Steelpens79 Tue 10/21/14 7:51 PM

There's no way anyone is going to put up with the headache. By the time he's reinstated, the teams you mentioned above will be out of a playoff spot, and two (possibly three) of them are out already. No one is going to deal with the circus for a RB who's on his last legs. Now next season, maybe, but no way it happens this season.

DaPoUnD Wed 10/22/14 2:20 PM

Too many people focus on the end result instead of what led up to the RR incident. While I don't condemn men hitting women, far to often women feel they can strike a man and get away with it. The reason why she should stood by her man is not because she is a battered woman but she was wrong as well. Domestic violence is a tricky subject, however. If you are bad enough to hit somebody you are bad enough to get knocked out. There are tons of violence that led to the death of men by the hands of a woman. LET'S KEEP IT REAL!

25Ezekiel17 Wed 10/22/14 2:55 PM

hehehehjehehehehehe

Michakav Wed 10/22/14 5:11 PM

@Dapo.....I think you meant to say you don't "condone" men hitting women.

Kunta_Kinte Thu 10/23/14 7:56 PM

yeah yeah ... I understand what he is getting at...

let the soap opera begin!!!!

Check please

walkthetalk Thu 11/13/14 3:09 PM

So Ray Rice hits his fiance and she still marries him. She got over it, why hasn't everyone else?

Jerry Jones on the other hand gets caught feeling up young girls in or near a hotel bathroom with photos being published in news editorials and because the statute of limitations to file sexual abuse charges had run out, Jerry gets a free pass. He even goes on to encourage his son, Jay Glazer and the head of the NFL referees partying with strippers on the Cowboys bus which was shown on TMZ broadcast and says it is just Entertainment as usual for when the Cowboys aren't practicing or playing.

Why is everyone so bummed about Ray Rice slapping his own fiance who went ahead and married the guy but they don't seem bothered by a lecherous old man probing a young woman's body against her will since the statute of limitations ran out on her filing the court case?

joegibbskins07 Thu 11/13/14 5:44 PM

i like how you down play the Joe Frazier knockout blow by calling it a slap. have you ever considered that she is a gold digger? Most woman say they forgive but they don't forget. now that they are married, she can cash in on his next contract. she would get next to nothing if she did not marry him. now she has some power and leverage on him that she did not have before the punch.

yea, JJ is a dirty old man. that part i agree with. no worries though, your favorite woman beater and his buddy, the child abuser, will be back soon. just not soon enough to save your precious season. sorry.

Kunta_Kinte Sat 11/15/14 10:04 AM

he is just stating

A mans livelihood is not supposed to be irradiated because of the crime.

especially when the court went threw procedure.

That is why it is a soap opera too much BS

joegibbskins07 Sun 11/16/14 10:02 AM

it depends on the livelihood. the players sign a conduct agreement. i would get fired if i get arrested and cant make it to work. depending on what i get arrested for, i could get fired even if i can make it to work. AP's livelihood has not been irradiated. he has been getting paid to stay home this year and is still under contract. Just because the Ravens pulled a bonehead move of cutting RR does not mean he cant continue his career with another team next year.

there is a clear cut difference between having the privilege of playing in the NFL and working at McDonalds. One is a privilege and high profile, the other is just another crappy low profile job. if you cant handle the rules and commitment you must make to play in the NFL, go apply at McDonalds.

Kunta_Kinte Sun 11/16/14 11:22 AM

yeah... understandable..

but when the owner of a Colts McDonalds can do countless drugs drive drunk and nothing happens more than a fine.

well. thats bias.

and that is room for discussion on whats fair whats not.

joegibbskins07 Sun 11/16/14 11:55 AM

sure but he owns the team or company, not an employee. personally, i think the Colts owner should be forced to sell myself but he is not as high profile as AP or RR. AP and RR is part of the product being sold to us fans. if we are turned off or disgusted with the product, the owners remove that product and put a new one out for us to see. thats what happened and thats how it works in the real world too. my company owner can go to jail and when he gets out, he still owns the company. i go to jail and i am out because i am the face of the company out in the field. he can hide the fact that he went to jail by saying he went on vacation, but the sudden loss of me in the feild demands instant replacement to keep production from being disrupted.

i agree with you about things being unfair but since when did things in life become fair? we like sports in part because refs are supposed to keep it fair but i dont have a ref to toss a flag every time life is unfair for me.

Kunta_Kinte Sun 11/16/14 12:21 PM

this exactly WHY a player (person) can do WHATEVER he wants to do

and this is why CRIME actually EXISTS

because a person can be compelled under circumstances to do whatever he wants to do.

because people "ABOVE" those (even though a person) can do whatever the hell they want. so why not them?

People like Rice and AP

are exactly what is wrong with society but at the same time.... They can do what they want because some others, owners are never held accountable because of whatever.

joegibbskins07 Sun 11/16/14 12:32 PM

they are held accountable in the court of law but a good lawyer can minimize the damage. AP and RR can both afford that lawyer too and it worked for them. if i punched my wife like that, i would be in jail for it so how is it fair that he can get off so easy but i cant? im not complaining, i really dont care because i dont put myself into that position. i also did not sign the same conduct agreement that they did and THATS the real difference between them and the owners and us common folk.

let God sort it out? imagine how BAD society as a whole would act if we just let God sort it out. our society try to remove dangerous people from the streets. its not a perfect system but way better than nothing. God makes us all pay for our bad choices and the system is one of his tools during life. with that being said, the NFL system is also one of his tools. embrace it.

Kunta_Kinte Sun 11/16/14 12:36 PM

I'll embrace buying off suspensions like Colts owner did.... because it is always about the MONEY

The same way the Mafia used to do as well....

It is just the Government wasnt getting taxes from it.

walkthetalk Tue 11/25/14 3:51 PM

Ray Rice will probably end up with the Dallas Cowboys where no one is ever held accountable and the owner is rich enough and powerful enough to strong arm victims into not filing court cases until the statute of limitations runs out. Take a look at the latest charges filed against Jerry Jones and how the court dismissed them due to the statute of limitations running out even though the young woman claimed to have been bullied by the Jones family and their body guards.
