Draughn signed a one-year contract with the Chargers on Tuesday, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. The Chargers are starved for depth at running back after Ryan Mathews and Danny Woodhead succumbed to long-term injuries in each of the last two weeks, so the addition of Draughn will give the Chargers a needed body behind starter Donald Brown. Draughn, who saw limited usage in two games with the Bears before he was released last week, will likely be worked into the Chargers' game plan slowly as he familiarizes himself with the playbook. It may not be long, however, before he surpasses Brandon Oliver for the top backup spot behind Brown.
