Dorsey (biceps) is expected to be placed on the 49ers' injured reserve/designated to return list on Tuesday, CSN Bay Area reports. Dorsey was slated to start at nose tackle before tearing his biceps Aug. 1 and is now expected to miss three-and-a-half months following surgery. With the possibility of returning some time after the mid-season mark, Dorsey will be named San Francisco's designated player to return, ruling him out of practice until after Week 6 and out of games until after Week 8. While Dorsey rehabs, Quinton Dial is expected to open the regular season as the 49ers' starter at nose tackle.
