Chris Crocker has been working with the first-team defense in practice and appears to have a shot to win the starting strong safety job over Sanford, ESPN reports. It was assumed Sanford was the leader for the starting strong safety job heading into training camp, but it sounds like both Sanford and Robert Blanton (if healthy) have passed him on the depth chart.
