Bears released G/C Edwin Williams and waived LB Jerry Franklin. A fill-in starter each of the past three seasons, Williams agreed to a restructured contract in May, but was made expendable by the signing of Matt Slauson and emergence of rookie Kyle Long. Williams should make himself a part of the workout circuit.
