Browns GM Tom Heckert confirmed Tank Carder is "in the mix" for the Week 1 strongside linebacker job. Fourth-round pick James-Michael Johnson (oblique) is questionable for the season opener, and without a timetable for return. The Browns will also be without Scott Fujita (suspension) for the first three games. Carder will be given an extended look with Craig Robertson and L.J. Fort the only current options on the active roster. Chris Gocong (Achilles) is out for the year, and expected to be placed on injured reserve.
