Browns' coach Mike Pettine revealed Monday that one of the reasons Tate has seen his carries reduced is that the two rookie backs, Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West, both have "explosiveness" and a "little bit more pop," the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Tate has seen his workload considerably reduced since his Week 5 return from a knee injury, and has collected just 28 yards on the ground over his last three contests. No game this season was worse than his Week 11 performance, however, as the veteran back managed to lose nine yards on his only two carries, resulting in negative points for any fantasy owners still counting on him. The Cleveland backfield is an interesting situation to monitor moving forward, as it appears Crowell currently has the upper hand for carries, despite losing a costly fumble in the redzone during the second quarter of Sunday's game. Coach Mike Pettine has consistently stated that the role of feature back would be awarded to whoever has the best practice week, and based on the recent carry distribution, that clearly hasn't been Tate. Pettine also stated during his news conference that he wouldn't speak about any attitude problem or off-field issue regarding Tate, suggesting there may be another variable in play here. All hope isn't lost just yet, but the way things are trending, Tate will likely be a tough fantasy option to rely on moving forward.

Well, I guess they've cracked the code on the Cleveland RB situation. Hopefully T West has a great week of practice.
