Once Bowman begins practicing, the three-week clock begins to tick until the 49ers must either activate him or place him on season-ending injured reserve. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Friday that there is a "real possibility" that Bowman will not return this season, but the 49ers will see how his knee looks in practice before making that decision.
