Bowman (knee) had an MRI performed Wednesday in order to determine if he'll return to practice next week, the Sacramento Bee reports. The 49ers must make a decision by next Tuesday whether to open a 21-day window, during which Bowman either be activated from the PUP list or placed on injured reserve. Considering the more-than-steady play of Michael Wilhoite and Chris Borland at inside linebacker, the team is unlikely to slow play the latter stages of Bowman's recovery from last January's torn ACL.
