The Thunder ended up trading him to the Celtics last offseason in July, but Jones was unable to make the final roster and was waived prior to the start of the regular season. After again finding minimal interest from NBA teams, Jones will head to Russia and play for Khimki. However, don't be surprised if he attempts to return to the NBA at some point in the future.

The Celtics frantically tried to trade Jones prior to releasing their cuts Saturday, but finding no suitable offer, were forced to release the wildly-talented yet underutilized 24-year-old. Jones appears to be the leading candidate to be released in order for the Celtics to get down to the minimum 15 gauranteed contracts, CSN New England's A. Sherrod Blakely reports.
