Thompson scored 10 points (5-7 FG, 0-3 FT) with seven rebounds and two assists in 43 minutes in the overtime win against Atlanta on Sunday.

He had some ugly free throw attempts and has hit 50 percent of his freebies in his last five games. Thompson's streak of double-digit rebounding games ended at four.

Thompson (shoulder) indicated Tuesday that he'll be ready to play in Wednesday's Game 1 against the Hawks, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Thompson tweaked his shoulder during Game 6 against the Bulls after taking a hard fall while leaping for an alley-oop. He remained in the game, and while the injury was never thought to be anything serious, Thompson had been dealing with some residual soreness over the past week. When asked about the shoulder after Tuesday's session, Thompson said it "feels great, I'm ready to bang." In the continued absence of Kevin Love (shoulder), expect Thompson to see big minutes against Atlanta in the Eastern Conference Finals. He averaged 9.3 points and 11.2 rebounds in 37.0 minutes against Chicago in the second round and will again have a chance to put up big rebounding numbers versus a Hawks team that posted the fourth-worst rebounding differential in the league during the regular season.

Thompson is suffering from a shoulder injury but was able to practice Saturday, Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Thompson's injury must be minor, as there hasn't really been a mention of the issue until now. Regardless, his presence at practice Saturday is an encouraging sign for his status against the Hawks on Wednesday. It's worth keeping an eye on, however, to ensure nothing more comes of the situation.

Thompson had a solid game Friday but it wasn't enough to help the Cavaliers take the win. He's averaging 6.3 points and 7.8 rebounds in the postseason so far, and he'll need to continue to assert himself for the Cavaliers to play better.

Thompson will start Game 2 in place of Mike Miller, ESPN reports.

Cleveland struggled to guard the Bulls' big lineups in the Game 1 loss, especially the pick and roll with Pau Gasol. Thompson will offer better defense and rebounding than Miller did, however he already played 37 minutes in Game 1, so don't expect Thompson, or Chicago's big men, to see a big change in stat lines based on this lineup change.
