Gay (concussion) averaged 21.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.2 three-pointers, 1.0 steal, and 0.6 blocks in 35 minutes in 68 regular season games during the 2014-15 season.

In his first full season with the Kings, Gay had career-highs in both points and assists per game. Earlier this month in an interview on SiriusXM, Gay went on record saying that coach George Karl intends to play him more at the power forward position in the 2015-16 season. Gay averaged 22.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 three-pointers, 1.0 steal, and 0.8 blocks in 35 minutes in five games starting at power forward in March. However, Gay's name has been swirling in trade rumors before the draft revolving around Sacramento All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins. Gay could potentially be moved to his fourth team in as many years, but wherever he ends up, he should continue to be a high-profile scorer. He is on the books for the $40 million over the next three seasons, keeping him under contract through the 2017-18 season.

Gay (head) will log more time at power forward during the 2015-16 season, Sactown Royalty reports.

In a recent radio appearance on SiriusXM, Gay mentioned that coach George Karl intends to play the forward "more at the four" in the upcoming campaign. Gay played such a role during a five-game stretch from Mar. 20 through Mar. 28, averaging 22.4 points (on 45 percent shooting), 6.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 three-pointers, 1.0 steal, and 0.8 blocks in 35 minutes. The sample is more or less in line with his season-long marks, but Darren Collison (hip) was out of the lineup, meaning Gay's output could experience a change with more proficient point guard play.

Gay (concussion) has been ruled out for the season, the Kings' official site reports.

After sustaining a head injury on Mar. 30, Gay missed the subsequent three contests as he embarked on the league's concussion protocol. He then returned Tuesday and put up 33 points in 38 minutes, but symptoms returned that eventually ended the current campaign. For the final three games of the season, expect Omri Casspi to get the nod at small forward.

Gay (head) could be shut down for the rest of the season, the Cowbell Kingdom reports.

Coach George Karl is uncertain whether Gay will receive clearance from the league's concussion protocol before season's end. However, Gay has three more chances to suit up, starting with Sunday's contest at Denver.

Gay (head) will not play Friday against Oklahoma City, James Ham of Cowbell Kingdom reports.

Gay returned from a concussion to face the Wolves on Tuesday, but he was experiencing headaches after the game and, as a result, is back in the league's concussion protocol. He missed Wednesday's game against Utah and will continue to sit out Friday. Consider Gay questionable for Sunday's game in Denver, and expect Omri Casspi to continue to start in his place.

Gay (head) is officially questionable for Friday's game against the Thunder, Sean Cunningham of News 10 KXTV reports.

Gay returned to the court Tuesday, posting a phenomenal game for the Kings, but had head problems again Wednesday, preventing him from playing. His status for Friday's contest remains up in the air at this point, but it should be updated at some point prior to the opening tip-off.

Gay (head) will be evaluated Thursday and has not been ruled out for Friday's game against the Thunder, Bill Herenda of CSN reports.

Gay, who sat out Wednesday versus the Jazz due to headaches, was placed back in the league's concussion protocol, and he'll need to clear tests Thursday in order to get back on the court Friday. The results of the tests should be clear Thursday evening, though the team likely won't rule him in or out until Friday.

Gay (head) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Jazz.

Gay missed a trio of games last week after suffering a concussion, but he returned for Tuesday's game, scoring 33 points to go with seven rebounds and five assists in 38 minutes. He was battling a headache after the game, however, and the team will hold him out Wednesday as a precaution. Which player will start in Gay's place is yet to be announced.
