Thomas has been terrific starting in place of the injured Marcus Smart (toe). Regardless of role, Thomas seems set to be one of the Celtics' most consistently relied upon players. Given Smart's absence, it's likely that Thomas would have been forced to play more minutes if the game weren't such a blowout, as he logged 36 minutes on Wednesday versus the Pacers while Smart sat out. Expect Thomas to continue seeing extended minutes so long as Smart sits.
