Thomas (groin) will not play in Friday's matchup with the Raptors, Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe reports.

Thomas was already considered doubtful for the contest, so it was fully expected he'd eventually be ruled out. Marcus Smart started in his place Wednesday, notching 13 points, three rebounds and three assists over 23 minutes, so he's currently the favorite to draw the start again. Terry Rozier also saw extra time in the backcourt, taking part in 26 minutes, so he could also be one of the main beneficiaries. That said, Thomas is fully expected to travel with the team during their upcoming road trip to Oklahoma City on Sunday, which is his current targeted return date.
