Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said he expects Holiday to be limited to around 15 minutes per game until January, Jennifer Hale of FOX Sports New Orleans reports.
EDGE Analysis
Leg injuries have been a trouble spot for Holiday in both of his two seasons in New Orleans, and it appears that in an attempt to keep him on the court for a full campaign, the Pelicans will reduce his workload. According to John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Gentry plans on holding Holiday out of back-to-back scenarios, further dampening the point guard's outlook for the upcoming season. Though it's possible Holiday will retain the starting title in the Pelicans' backcourt, expect Tyreke Evans and Norris Cole to log a lot of minutes at point guard. Given his historical health concerns along with his diminishing role, Holiday's fantasy stock is falling in a significant way.
