Paul (hand) has been ruled out for the next four-to-six weeks after undergoing surgery on his hand Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Paul fractured his third metacarpal on his right hand in Monday's Game 4 loss to the Trail Blazers and underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to repair the damage. He will be reevaluated in four to six weeks, which could mark the end of the All-Star's season. The news comes on the heels of the Clippers decision to shut down big man Blake Griffin for the remainder of the season due to a quad injury. The injuries to Paul and Griffin could be the last nail in the coffin to an otherwise promising season for the Clippers as the Trail Blazers have battled back to tie the first-round series 2-2. The team has yet to name a replacement starter at point guard for Game 5 but it appears as though Austin Rivers will be a likely candidate, with Jamal Crawford and Pablo Prigioni also expected to see expanded minutes the remainder of the postseason.
