The untimely loss of Jeff Green doesn't help as Boston gave up the heart of their defense in Kendrick Perkins at the trade deadline last season to get him. The Celtics attempted to get in the Chris Paul sweepstakes, danging Rajon Rondo, but came up empty. Doc Rivers will try to coax another season from Ray Allen and Paul Pierce on the wing. In the paint, Kevin Garnett and Jermaine O'Neal are long in the tooth, but heavy on experience. More is needed from Avery Bradley in the backcourt while newly acquired Brandon Bass and Chris Wilcox provide depth underneath. Projection: 2nd Place. New Jersey Nets- With a new arena in Brooklyn on the horizon, the Nets need to make a splash and continue to persue Dwight Howard. New Jersey needs to hang on to point guard Deron Williams, but he'll depart if he doesn't get help. For now, New Jersey has one of the top young centers in the Association in Brook Lopez.
