Meeks (foot) said Friday that he hopes to resume practicing "in a few weeks," MLive.com's Aaron McCann reports.

Meeks was limited to just three games last season with the Pistons while recovering from a fractured right foot, and though he was deemed fully healthy when he was traded to the Magic in June, it was later determined that he required a second surgery after the foot failed to heal fully from the first procedure. The shooting guard has been doing rehab work and lifting weights, but is still awaiting clearance to take contact. If that happens in the near future, Meeks would still likely need at least a couple weeks to regain conditioning. He may not be able to make his Magic debut until late November at the earliest.
