EDGE Analysis
Johnson has been outstanding all season in a bench role for the Heat, and was instrumental Thursday in helping the team score one of its more impressive wins of what's been a disappointing campaign. He saw some more usage than usual with Luke Babbitt (hip) exiting early, and showcased some impressive efficiency after hitting only 44.8 percent of his field goals heading into the contest. Even if Babbitt is cleared to play in the team's next game Saturday against the Trail Blazers, the Heat will still be without the services of Josh Richardson (ankle), Justise Winslow (wrist) and Dion Waiters (groin), leaving ample time available for second-unit players like Johnson. With averages of 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 treys, 1.1 blocks and 0.8 steals per game on the season, Johnson boasts a more well-rounded statistical portfolio than most reserve players, and that coupled with the Heat's mounting injuries could make him an attractive target in deeper formats.
