Gordon tallied 24 points (8-16 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 3-5 FT), one assist, one rebound and one steal across 31 minutes in Sunday's 123-117 win over the Pelicans in an exhibition held in Shanghai, China.
EDGE Analysis
The new up-tempo attack implemented by coach Mike D'Antoni has looked spectacular through the first three preseason games, with Gordon being one of the Rockets' many beneficiaries. Though he's set to serve as the team's sixth man when the regular season begins, Gordon has settled in as the starting shooting guard while Patrick Beverley (knee) has been sidelined. Gordon has been a spectacular fit as a backcourt partner of James Harden, going 8-for-16 on three-point attempts over those games. The 27-year-old should hoist plenty of attempts from distance even once Beverley returns, but staying healthy will be a challenge after a number of different injuries have prevented him from suiting up in more than 64 games in any season since his rookie year of 2008-09.
