Gay (shoulder) registered 18 points (7-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 41 minutes during the Kings' 115-112 loss to the Pelicans on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Gay committed four turnovers, but he still managed to finish the game with a team-high on court +/- of +10. After two straight so-so showings in which he shot 50 percent or better from the field but scored less than 10 points, Gay posted his fourth double-double of the season. He held February averages of 17.6 points on 48 percent from the field to go with 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.8 steals, 1.7 threes, and 0.8 blocks in 32 minutes per matchup, and that's including a contest in which he left after four minutes due to an ankle injury. If Monday's performance versus the Pelicans is any indication, it appears Gay's shoulder is improving, and the Kings are back in action on Wednesday against the Cavaliers.
