Eddy Curry will start at center for the Mavericks on opening night if Chris Kaman (calf) can't play. Curry would be tasked with handling a frontcourt that includes Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol in the season opener with Kaman shelved, and the Mavs are already without Dirk Nowitzki (knee surgery) to begin the year. Dallas is wasting no time throwing Curry right into the fire.
