Chalmers (Achilles) told Sirius XM NBA Radio on Friday that he's "two weeks ahead of schedule" in his recovery.
EDGE Analysis
While Chalmers' recovery process from the ruptured right Achilles tendon is expected to last at least a couple more months, the improvement he's already shown might give him a chance at being back to full health at some point during NBA training camps. Since he's returning from a major injury, Chalmers might have to wait a little longer than other comparable talents before landing a contract this offseason, but he shouldn't have too much difficulty finding a role as a backup point guard for a team. Chalmers played well in 55 games with the Grizzlies in 2015-16 before going down with the injury, averaging 10.8 points, 3.8 assists, 2.6 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 0.8 three-pointers in 22.8 minutes per game.
