Augustin was traded from the Pistons to the Thunder at the February trade deadline. In 28 appearances (one start) for Oklahoma City, Augustin averaged 7.3 points, 3.1 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 three-pointers in 24.2 minutes per game. Augustin averaged 10.6 points and 4.9 assists in 54 games for the Pistons prior to being traded in February. However, at that time, Augustin was enjoying a brilliant stretch as Detroit's starting point guard, in the absence of former teammate Brandon Jennings (Achilles). In 10 starts following Jennings' season-ending injury, Augustin posted 20.3 points and 8.2 assists per night. However, once arriving in Oklahoma City to play behind perennial All Star point guard Russell Westbrook, Augustin's production dropped off more than expected, as he barely shot 37 percent from the field. That dip evidenced Augustin's post-trade struggles, but since he's still under contract with the Thunder for next season, Augustin should be better acclimated as Oklahoma City's second-string point guard in 2015-16.
