Davis is starting Wednesday's contest against Brooklyn, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

The veteran big has rarely seen the court this season but will make his first start with Jarrett Allen (illness) and Evan Mobley (elbow) both out for Cleveland. Kevin Love (conditioning) will also be back for the Cavaliers to help their depleted front-court depth, but he's expected to face a minutes restriction in his first game back.

Davis signed a contract with the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

The center hasn't appeared in a game since April 18 against the Clippers, a streak of six straight games. Davis is currently posting 2.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in 22 outings with the Timberwolves.

Davis added two points (2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, two steals, two blocks and one assist during Tuesday's loss to Brooklyn.

Davis played for the first time since Feb. 8 and he didn't disappoint. The center tied a season high off the glass while finishing with at least one tally in every major statistical category across 10 minutes of action. Tuesday's outing snapped a streak of 30 straight games watching from the sidelines.

Davis did not play in Monday's loss to the Thunder.

The veteran center hasn't seen the court since Feb. 8 against Dallas -- a span of 19 straight contests. After three consecutive starts from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1, Davis has only played a total of eight minutes across two appearances over the past 23 games.

Davis will come off the bench Wednesday against the Spurs.

The veteran big man started the last three games but will return to the bench with Naz Reid (wrist) rejoining the starting five Wednesday. Davis should still operate as the backup center since Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19 protocols) is still unavailable.

Starting his second straight game with both Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19) and Naz Reid (wrist) out, Davis didn't do much offensively, but he contributed some impressive defensive stats before fouling out. His stay in the starting five will likely be short-lived, so Davis is probably best avoided in fantasy leagues with weekly lineup moves.

Davis will get the start at center in Friday's game against the 76ers.

Davis will start in place of Naz Reid (wrist). The big man has averaged 3.8 points and 5.3 rebounds across 17.4 minutes in four starts this season.

Davis isn't starting Wednesday against the Grizzlies.
