Wade agreed to a one-year, $20 million deal with the Heat on Thursday, the AP reports.

Wade is officially re-signing with the Heat after opting out of the final year of his deal at the outset of free agency. He should remain the starting shooting guard again next season, and with Wade re-signed, rookie Justise Winslow's fantasy value may be somewhat limited in his first season in the NBA.

Wade has decided to opt out of his current contract with the Heat, making him a free agent, Ramona Shelburne of ESPN reports.

This decision from Wade has been anticipated by many who believe that he'll ultimately be playing for another team next season instead of spending his 13th season in Miami. While there's still the possibility that he'll remain in Miami, the Heat's selection of Justise Winslow in the 2015 NBA Draft may have been the tipping point for Wade to consider a departure from the only franchise he's every played with during his career. His value heading into the 2015-16 season remains unclear until he signs a new deal, although he'll likely remain a starter with plenty of minutes regardless of his final destination.

Wade will be facing the pressure of his successor this coming season after the Heat selected Justice Winslow in the 2015 NBA Draft.

Wade has noticeably regressed over the past few seasons and the addition of Winslow should ignite whatever he has left in the tank as Winslow could be the face of the franchise for years to come. However, the veteran will certainly remain a starter, and there's probably more pressure on Luol Deng since Winslow should slot into the small forward slot.

Wade, in his first season of the post-LeBron James era, was able to stay relatively healthy despite carrying a heavier burden on both sides of the floor. He played 62 games over the course of the 2014-15 season, which is an increase from the 54 games he played last season, and averaged 21.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 32 minutes per game.

As expected, Wade will exercise his player option for the 2015-16 season and return to the Heat, as at 33-years-old, he will take all the money he can get. However, it is clear that Wade's on-court effectiveness is on the decline. Not only did he play a career-low 32 minutes per game, but he also shot just 47 percent from the field, which is his lowest mark since his rookie season when he shot 46.5 percent. But, despite the ageing, Wade was still best when playing in back-to-back games compared to games where he had multiple days prior to rest, where he averaged 22.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.9 assists. And while Wade had some spurts where he put up big games statistically, he was not consistent enough to be a very reliable week-to-week fantasy option, as he finished as the 95th ranked player for 8-category rotisserie leagues. With Chris Bosh (chest) expected to make a full recovery in time for next season and Goran Dragic expected to re-sign with the team this summer, it is very possible that Wade sees a decline in how much of the offensive burden is put on him. Nevertheless, as long as he stays healthy, Wade will without-a-doubt be a key piece for Miami next year as they look to improve on their standing in the Eastern Conference with a revamped roster.

Wade officially confirmed Friday that he will not opt out of his contract, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

As expected, Wade will remain on his current deal and return to the Heat next season. He was banged up throughout the season, batting knee and hamstring issues, but he'll look to return healthy in 2015-16 to team with Chris Bosh and Goran Dragic, assuming he re-signs, to form one of the better trios in the East.
