Dexter Pittman returned to action on Sunday January 22.

Dexter Pittman (flu) participated in practice on Wednesday. Pittman didn't play on Tuesday due to the illness but he's feeling much better now. He'll resume his usual spot at the end of the bench.

Dexter Pittman (flu-like symptoms) is not with the Heat. Pittman did play 14 minutes in Friday's loss to the Nuggets, but he's just a big-bodied option to pure shot-blocker Joel Anthony.

Dexter Pittman started the second half instead of Joel Anthony on Friday, and finished with two points on 1-of-4 shooting with no rebounds, one steal, and one assist in 15 minutes. We know Anthony will have no fantasy value, while Pittman is an extreme long-shot in his rookie year to have any value, himself.

Dexter Pittman will sit out Wednesday due to a quad injury. He'll rarely see the light of day for the Heat this season.

Dexter Pittman has agreed to to play for Atenas de Cordoba in Argentina. Pittman was asked by a fan if he was going to play for the club, and Pittman confirmed that was indeed the plan. He tweeted almost two months ago that he was considering the possibility of going overseas, and now he'll do exactly that. He'll have to have an out clause in his overseas deal as he's still under contract with Miami.

Dexter Pittman has used the lockout to concentrate on improving his body at the advice of LeBron James. James told Pittman to stay and shape and "be ready," and added that Pittman was going to to be a "big part" of what Miami does in the future. The Heat would really get a boost if Pittman does prove capable of contributing, and it's worth noting his renewed commitment considering the absence of an offensive threat in the middle for the Heat. He's a name to monitor for owners into the future.

This shouldn't be seen as in any way reflective of NBA labor news, because Pittman is coming off knee surgery and does not have a guaranteed contract for next year. It's entirely possible that he would have been going overseas even if there wasn't a lockout.
