Williams will return to the bench for Monday's game against the Heat, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams drew the start at point guard on Saturday with Kyrie Irving getting the night off for rest, posting 10 points, five rebounds and seven assists across 27 minutes. However, with Irving back with the starters, Williams will head to the bench in the corresponding move and will likely see his minutes drop into the upper teens or low 20's, thus restricting him to a limited role with the second unit.

Williams accumulated 10 points (4-11 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven assists, and five rebounds across 27 minutes during Saturday's 120-92 loss to the Heat.
EDGE Analysis
With Kyrie Irving (rest) and LeBron James (rest) both out for Saturday's matchup against the Heat, Williams drew the start and assumed the majority of the ballhandling duties for the team. Though he went 0-for-4 from three and scored just 10 points, he dished out seven assists, demonstrating his ability to work with the Cavaliers' bench unit, who all played major minutes in the absence of Irving, James, and Kevin Love (knee). Since Williams is largely regulated to the bench, his fantasy stock has drastically fallen from where it was earlier in the season when he started for the Mavericks, but could still make a solid DFS option whenever Irving misses time.

Williams will start Saturday's contest against the Heat, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Kyrie Irving (rest) out, Williams will get his first opportunity to play 30-plus minutes with his new team. LeBron James (rest) is also out, likely putting the majority of the team's ballhandling duties in Williams' hands. While Williams is likely not a viable option in most year-long fantasy formats, he may make a nice low-cost DFS option.

Williams will be available for Wednesday's game against the Celtics, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports. "I'm ready to get out there and play with these guys," Williams said at morning shootaround. "Got a chance to get familiar with things yesterday in practice and so I'm ready to go tonight."
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old officially signed with the Cavs on Monday after being waived by the Mavericks, and he'll immediately slot in as the Cavs' No. 2 point guard behind Kyrie Irving, bringing depth to a position that's been a weakness all season for Cleveland. Williams will be tasked with running the second unit, but he'll probably see a decline in overall value, as he's unlikely to approach the nearly 30 minutes per night he was locked into with the Mavericks. In order to accommodate the additions of Williams and fellow ex-Maverick Andrew Bogut, the Cavaliers will have to release a player before midnight Wednesday. Per McMenamin, that player will be either Jordan McRae or DeAndre Liggins.

Williams will not play Monday against the Bucks, but coach Tyronn Lue said he hopes the veteran guard will make his Cavaliers debut Wednesday in Boston, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams officially joined the Cavaliers earlier Monday, but the 32-year-old will be held out of action as he and the team finalize the details of his acquisition. A debut Wednesday night seems realistic, though Williams' workload could be limited for a few games as he adjusts to a new system and new surroundings. Eventually, the plan is for Williams to run the second unit, which should coincide in minutes reductions for Iman Shumpert and Kay Felder.

Williams is not at shootaround and is unlikely to play in Monday's game against the Bucks, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams is just signing with the team Monday, and it looks like the Cavaliers aren't going to rush him into being their backup point guard. While there reportedly is still a small chance the point guard could see time in Monday's contest, the most likely scenario is for Williams to practice with the team Tuesday and make his debut Wednesday in Boston.

Williams will sign with the Cavaliers on Monday, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, the veteran will join the top team in the East after officially passing through waivers Saturday evening. At age 32, Williams is a shell of his former All-NBA self, but he's still a solid point guard and represents a significant upgrade for the Cavs, who have been forced to use Iman Shumpert as a de facto backup point guard for much of the season. Once he's up to speed with his new team, expect Williams to come off the bench behind Kyrie Irving to run the second unit.

Williams is expected to sign with the Cavaliers once he clears waivers, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams was waived by the Mavericks on Thursday, and the expectation all along has been that the veteran will head to Cleveland, where he'll provide much-needed experience and depth at the point guard position. With Kyrie Irving solidified in a starting role, the Cavs likely envision Williams as a backup who can run the second unit and occasionally play off the ball. The 32-year-old is averaging 13.1 points and 6.9 assists in 29.3 minutes on the season, while shooting 34.8 percent from three on 4.5 attempts per game. Williams joining the Cavaliers is contingent on him passing through waivers unclaimed, which is expected to be the case, but it's unclear when, exactly, he'd make his Cavaliers debut.

Williams was waived by the Mavericks on Thursday, Marc J. Spears of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams release was rumored to be in the works as soon as the trade deadline passed on Thursday. Dallas will be turning over the point guard duties to rookie Yogi Ferrell and Williams will be free to join any team if he clears waivers. Williams release will likely lead to some extra minutes for Devin Harris as well.

Williams scored 12 points (4-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding six assists, two rebounds and one steal across 30 minutes in Wednesday's 98-91 loss to the Pistons.
EDGE Analysis
After missing eight games with a toe injury and being limited in the past two due to an illness and an ejection, Williams finally got back on track Wednesday, eclipsing 30 minutes in the starting lineup. Seth Curry and Yogi Ferrell have done an admirable job filling in for Williams when he's missed, but now that he's back, it'll be interesting to see how the guards' minutes will be adjusted. The poor shooting percentage was probably just some rust lingering on his game, but look for him to continue to return to form next Friday against the Timberwolves.
